In smaller drinking and dining establishments in Japan, the proprietors often spend a lot of time engaging their customers in conversation across the counter. If you’re visiting and don’t know the language, this can leave you feeling like you’re missing out on the fun. At Locale though, a cosy farm-to-table restaurant in Meguro, you can experience just that-but in English. American owner and chef Katy welcomes everyone in and chats away while she carefully prepares her delicious food for you.
During the day Katy serves her delicious take on Californian brunch and lunch dishes. Think fresh and interesting takes on fare like avocado toast, pancakes, eggs benedict and burgers. Great coffee is available too, walked in on a tray from a craft cafe coffee shop around the corner.
Then at night, Katy offers up a constantly changing tasting menu based around the freshest seasonal ingredients from her network of organic farmers across Japan. This makes for a unique experience each time you visit.
The atmosphere at Locale is great, the hospitality is warm and the food is healthy and scrumptious.
Be sure to reserve ahead by phone (English OK!) as seating is limited and its deservingly very popular.
