Shibuya Hikarie is a huge commercial and entertainment building directly connected to Shibuya Station. It was the first of several new developments in the Shibuya Station area to complete when it opened in 2012.
Shibuya Hikarie is notable for its 200 stores which cater mainly to a female clientele, its basement food halls, 30 eateries on levels 6 and 7, it’s gallery floor on level 8 that holds regular exhibitions and events and its 16th floor sky lounge that offers excellent views out across the district.
Tokyu Theater Orb occupies the 11th-16th floors and presents Western-style musicals in an almost 2000 seat theatre across three seating levels.
Shibuya Hikarie is a great place to while away some time if you’re in the Shibuya area. If you’re not looking to shop, go for the food, the exhibitions and views!
