While eating Chinese food on a trip to Japan might seem like a strange idea, it’s well worth a visit to Chinese Cafe Eight in Roppongi for its décor alone. Decked out in what one can only assume is a ‘fertility’ theme, you can dine here in a warm red glow surrounded by golden phalluses of various shapes and sizes. Some are blatantly obvious while others are hiding in plain sight and it’s quite a fun game to find them.
When the novelty of the décor wears off, you can tuck into delicious Chinese dishes from an extensive menu. Chinese Cafe Eight is most famous for its Peking duck, but with more than 250 dishes on the menu you won’t be spoiled for choice. It’s 24/7 too so is great for a stop in after a night out in the Roppongi entertainment district.
