Japan has had a long love affair with Hawaii and it has brought a bit of it home in the form of Hawaiian-themed bar/restaurant Tiki Tiki. Located high up in a building that looks out across the colourful lights of Shinjuku, the large space is thoroughly themed in polynesian-inspired scenery. There’s lots of wood and bamboo, tropical furnishings and multiple tikis of various shapes and sizes standing tall throughout.
Tiki Tiki has a comprehensive menu of tropical cocktails on offer, some served in signature themed mugs. The food servings, meanwhile, are generous and decidedly American. There’s even a nightly floor show to round out the experience, featuring grass-skirted hula girls dancing amid the diners.
Note-there is a cover charge for visiting but it’s worth it for the atmosphere and the fun experience.
