The Mori Art Museum is a vast contemporary art museum in the sky, sitting on the 53rd floor of the Mori Tower skyscraper in the Roppongi Hills commercial development.
The museum, which celebrated its 15thanniversary in 2019, holds high quality, seasonal solo and group exhibitions. Most feature art by modern and contemporary Japanese and international artists, though architecture and design are other focuses. For a reminder of just how high up you are, works are often exhibited in a room that has windows out to the view of Tokyo.
The gift store at the exit sometimes sells original and editioned works by the exhibiting artists. In addition, it stocks a wide collection of art books, design goods and art merchandise.
Admission to Mori Art Museum includes entry to Tokyo Sky View on the floor below, a 360-degree observation deck with amazing views, so don’t miss that while you’re there. It’s also worth browsing the Roppongi Hills shopping and dining district at ground level as part of your visit.
