Hibiya Park is a 16 hectare (40 acre) public park. It’s located between the Ginza commercial district and the Imperial Palace grounds. Featuring multiple different Japanese and Western garden areas, it’s great for a stroll or to sit in nature for a while.
There are numerous water features throughout the park grounds, including Japanese ponds and European style fountains. There’s also plenty of benches located throughout if you want to sit and take in the nature.
One corner of Hibiya Park features an elevated castle wall where you can gaze out across a pond and the park grounds from a height. Keep an eye out for cranes in the pond while you’re there. If you’re lucky you may even spot one of the kingfishers who visit occasionally.
If you’re lucky enough to be there in spring, there are tulip and nemophila gardens that draws the crowds.
There’s a few restaurants and food outlets dotted around the park grounds and numerous festivals and events are held in the park on weekends throughout the year.
